Every robot run should make the next one better

Why Alloy raised an additional A$11.5 million to build the intelligence layer that makes every robot run improve the next.

Today, I’m excited to share that Alloy has raised an additional A$11.5 million at an A$115 million valuation. The round was led by Square Peg, with continued support from Blackbird, Airtree and others.

This makes us 1 of 4 companies to have the support of the big 3 funds alongside Canva, Lorikeet and Airwallex.

I started Alloy because robotics is one of the hardest and most consequential engineering opportunities society has available today. Robots have the potential to transform how we respond to scarcity across agriculture, manufacturing, defence, logistics and healthcare. But building reliable robotic systems remains brutally difficult.

After announcing our pre-seed last year, we did not expect to raise again this quickly. Customer demand changed our plan.

Why raise again now?

Since launching publicly late last year, Alloy has been deployed across a growing number of robotics, hardware and sensor companies working in agriculture, defence, industrial automation, maritime systems and humanoids.

Our partners now use Alloy across field validation, core R&D, machine learning and support engineering. They are not just running demos. Alloy is becoming part of how their teams work every day.

Across these deployments, partners have reduced investigations that previously took weeks to as little as one day, brought seven or eight separate data streams into a single workflow, and cut the time required to respond to field issues by as much as 50 per cent.

Those results gave us confidence in three things.

First, the problem is broad. Teams across different industries and robot types struggle with the same underlying challenge: turning enormous volumes of fragmented robot data into useful knowledge.

Second, Alloy can deliver meaningful results across the entire robotics lifecycle, from early development and validation through to deployed fleets and field support.

Third, the value compounds. Each mission, test and support case gives the organisation more context for understanding the next one.

We could see an opportunity to build a foundational part of the modern robotics stack, and a reason to move faster.

Every run should compound

Robotics teams already generate huge volumes of data. The problem is that the context is fragmented across logs, images, time-series data, tickets, code and the knowledge held by individual engineers.

When something fails, teams often reconstruct that context manually. When a similar issue appears six months later, much of the investigation begins again.

Alloy changes that.

We ingest robot data into Mesh Storage, our cost-effective and interoperable robotics data layer. We prepare that data so people and AI agents can analyse it together, then connect the resulting intelligence to the tools teams already use.

The goal is simple: every run should make the next one better.

Every validation test should contribute to the next design decision. Every firmware update should carry the context of previous fixes and regressions. Every field-support ticket should be informed by similar cases across the fleet.

Robots are also holistic systems. Hardware, firmware, software and machine-learning models all need to work together to produce a reliable customer outcome. Alloy is designed to understand that complete system, rather than focusing on only one layer of the stack.

Teams can work with Alloy through our product, Slack, Jira, our edge agent, MCP or our Python SDK. The intelligence should meet engineers where they already work, rather than becoming another isolated tool or data silo.

What this capital unlocks

This round allows us to invest ahead of the demand we are seeing.

We will expand our global presence, particularly in the United States, while growing our implementation and support capability. Working closely with customers has been central to our progress, and we intend to preserve that level of partnership as we scale.

We will continue investing in Mesh Storage, our edge infrastructure and our agents that analyse robotics data. We will also expand the integrations that allow Alloy’s intelligence to be used throughout a customer’s existing workflow.

Finally, we will deepen our robotics-specific intelligence and evaluation capabilities. General-purpose AI is improving rapidly, but understanding real-world robotic systems requires specialised context, tooling and feedback. Building that layer is where Alloy can make a unique contribution.

Building Alloy

I’m incredibly proud of the team behind this progress. We are a small, highly technical group working closely with some of the most ambitious robotics companies in the world.

We care about removing complexity, delivering measurable customer outcomes and building things that feel unexpectedly simple to use. We believe close partnership and exceptional service are competitive advantages, both for Alloy and for the companies we support.

This funding is an important milestone, but it is not the achievement itself. The achievement is seeing Alloy help engineers understand failures faster, make better decisions and build safer, more reliable robotic systems.

We are building Alloy to accelerate robotic intelligence and, ultimately, robotic abundance.
